Type Anatomy Poster

Initial roughs/sketches

Design Rough

From Nic Bott:

I really do like it, its very simple but thats good because it compliments the type of magazine that you are planning on creating (good luck by the way). I dont know what else you are gonig to be able to do, as it is pretty well made. Have you tried playing with lowercase letters and/or serif fonts? I think that would just be the ideal thing to do right now - see what else you can push with it.
Try pushing the words and the & together, haha maybe you could have the here on top, put the now on bottom, and then put the & in the middle and cut it out so it looks white inside the words... i dunno, just play around with it, try new things. Also, try to see if you can get more type anatomy in there. How you will go around doing that, beats me, but good luck!
Go get it!

My Response:

The feedback I got was really helpful. I liked the idea of using lowercase and serif-fonts, so I made sure to incorporate that into my tight rough. It also helped my poster become more informational which is it's main purpose.

Tight Rough

From Nic Bott:

Good job autumn, it looks way good! Glad to see you playing around with different ideas. Is there any one that you feel is the strongest? Maybe not for the actual masthead, but maybe just for the typography project? you know better than i do.
I think the way you have it would be really cook to keep, actually. Now just to label all the parts and put the descriptions on, I think it will look stellar. Your doing really good! keep up the good work!
